Tackle the rising cost of living with a low-carbon home at Aspen Grove

With the cost of energy rising, Allen & Harris estate agency is offering home buyers in Cardiff the chance to reduce their energy bills with an ‘eco home’ at award-winning, sustainable development, Aspen Grove in Rumney.

Built by Cardiff Living, a development partnership between Cardiff Council and Wates Residential, new homes at Aspen Grove are designed with the latest energy saving technology, including:

·       PV solar panels, which convert solar energy into electricity.

·       Batteries to store electricity, which can be topped up from the grid during low cost/low carbon periods, or sell excess electricity back to the grid during high cost/high carbon periods.

·       Sero BEE monitors, which track energy generation and consumption, and optimise distribution and usage around the home based on the residents’ lifestyle choices.

·       Ground source heat pumps, which supply both central heating and hot water to the homes, and are also controlled by the Sero BEE monitors.

“Aspen Grove is the first development of its kind in this area, offering locals a range of modern and stylish new homes, with the opportunity to make significant savings on their energy bills,” says Andrew Symonds, New Homes Director at Allen & Harris.  “With the cost of living continuing to rise, we are acutely aware of how important it is for people to reduce their household outgoings wherever possible. The cutting edge technology in these properties will make a huge difference to residents’ everyday lives, allowing them to be in full control of their homes’ energy usage and, ultimately, take back control of how much they are spending on their bills.”

Aspen Grove is a collection of two, three and four bedroom homes, forming part of Cardiff Living’s wider commitment to build 1,600 homes over five years in the region, and creating new communities, shared facilities and neighbourhoods that people are proud to belong to.

“With so much on offer at Aspen Grove, it is unsurprising that we’ve seen such high demand and have taken more than 50 reservations in the few months since the development launched. We will soon be launching the two bedroom houses along with more semi-detached homes, and are urging anyone interested to contact us without delay for more information,” Andrew concludes.
